Observing Variable Stars (Patrick Moore's Practical Astronomy Series)
Published in Paperback by Springer Verlag (31 January, 2003)
Average review score:

Great book for all amateur astronomersThis is a great book for all amateur astonomers but variable star observers will be most pleased. The book covers a great amount of information such as how to observe variable stars, record observational data and report observations regarding variable stars. Also, there is a great amount of information regarding the many types of variable stars such as pulsating Mira type stars, cataclysmic variables, eclipsing binaries as well as many of the less known type variable stars such as SX Phe stars, BY Dra stars, Be stars and many, many more. The book does a very good job of covering so much information, much better than any other book available to the amateur at this time.
I would recommend this book to any amateur astronomer but I would strongly encourage any variable star observer to add this book to their library as soon as they possible could do so. This is a great book for the beginning variable star observer; you'll have more information than you can use for years.

Odie Dodie
Published in Paperback by Bewrite Books (April, 2002)
Average review score:

Splendid WritingThe author writes with astounding imagery. His work is much like the old storytelling style of Hemingway, Steinback, and Twain. The Odie collection is a mix of about 20 short stories, several about Odie Dodie, but others about scalawags and characters of all sorts. Mixed in that is the story about Trouser Cloninger, which is much like Hobbit style. Here, a young bumpkin observes the lives of not-too-ordinary fish, as they adventure out of their usual confines. Loosely based on the Book of Exodus (I think). All in all, a great book!

Old Age: Journey into Simplicity
Published in Paperback by Harmony/Bell Tower (20 February, 2001)
Average review score:

For All Ages and for All TimeLike her former partner Robert A. Johnson, Helen Luke is a master of rendering the psychological meanings in great literature understandable and relevant to all people wishing to gain a deeper level of understanding about the growtn of the human soul. Having plumbed the depths of her own psycho-spiritual aging process(Such Stuff As Dreams are Made On), Ms. Luke has created a work fusing literary scholarship and personal experience into a guide for all of us to follow towards the inevitable. When the time comes for me to plant my oar (read her interpretation of The Odyssey)and turn towards the life of prayer, song and storytelling I will be eternally grateful to have had this wonderful Wise Woman as my guide. Deserving of a wide readership.

The Origin of Generation X
Published in Paperback by Marvel Books (July, 1996)
Average review score:

The Book(s) That Started it AllLike the title says, this is the book (or collection thereof) that started the best (IMHO) comic book series ever. This shows how the GenX kids got together, and it depicts their first adventure together, sadly however, there is one who will not stay with them for very long. A MUST READ for any comic book fan!

The Pastor's Letter
Published in Paperback by Milligan Books (July, 2001)
Average review score:

Compelling¿Thought-Provoking¿PowerfulThe Pastor's Letter is a wonderfully written and gripping novel. The author of this book, Baba Evans, knows without a doubt how to develop a storyline to draw the reader in from the very beginning. In fact, I read this book in one setting on a Saturday afternoon. Evans also has a superb and keen way of developing his characters.
The story centers on James Davis a man who endures many heartaches and pains, whom eventually learns to understand what the true meaning of having faith is really all about. And, through it all, he realizes that God was by his side every step of the way. This book speaks clearly about the issues of secrets within the church, forgiveness and healing.
Pick up a copy of this breathtaking book. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Evans has made me one of his biggest fans and I cannot wait to read his next book.
